VPN protocols for restrictive networks

On an open network the protocol barely matters. On a network that actively blocks VPNs it decides whether you connect at all. These explainers cover how blocking works and which transports are built to blend in.

How this connects to the country guides

Every country troubleshooting page — Pakistan, Turkey — points back to these explainers for the "why is this happening" part. The mechanism is the same everywhere; only the carriers and rules change.

AVEE uses VLESS/Reality. Get your subscription link in the web cabinet and import it into the client you already use.

FAQ

Which VPN protocol is best for a censored network?
One that blends in: a TLS-camouflaged transport such as VLESS with Reality, rather than plain WireGuard or OpenVPN. The comparison page goes through the trade-offs.
Is a "protocol" the same as a "transport"?
Loosely, people use both words. On this site, WireGuard and OpenVPN are full VPN protocols; VLESS and Reality are transports used by the Xray core that together do the same job.
