AVEE vs NordVPN
NordVPN is the default "best overall" pick in most VPN roundups: a very large audited network, apps for every platform, dedicated IPs, 24/7 support. AVEE is a much smaller, cheaper product ($1–3/month vs $12.99) with its own apps for Android and Windows only (any VLESS client works on other platforms), and a camouflaged VLESS/Reality transport on by default. If you want breadth, polish and a big brand, Nord wins. If you want the lowest price, a pay-for-data option, and an obfuscated transport with no setup, AVEE is worth a look.

Price and model
NordVPN's no-commitment monthly is $12.99 (much cheaper on 1–2 year plans, which are the rates in most ads). AVEE is $1/100 GB, $2/300 GB, $3 unlimited per month. For a light user — a few GB a month for messaging and the odd blocked site — AVEE costs roughly a tenth of Nord's monthly rate. Nord gives you far more product for that money: more locations, more platforms, threat protection, dedicated IP add-ons. Match the spend to what you actually need.
Getting past censorship
NordVPN's default is NordLynx, which is fast but, like all WireGuard-based protocols, is the first thing deep packet inspection catches on restrictive networks (see VLESS vs WireGuard). Nord's answer is obfuscated servers or NordWhisper, which you switch to manually. AVEE only has the camouflaged VLESS/Reality transport, so there is no non-obfuscated mode to get stuck on, and Reality also resists active probing. On an open network Nord will likely be faster; on a network that fingerprints protocols, "obfuscated by default" is one less thing to configure.
Breadth and support
This is Nord's advantage. Apps for iOS, macOS, Linux, routers and TVs; a large server network with specialty servers; 24/7 live chat; a company with years of operation and a public audit history (including transparency after its 2018 datacentre incident, disclosed in 2019). AVEE is Android + Windows, no live chat, a small operation, and no published audit. If you need coverage across many devices or want a support line, Nord is the safer choice.
Who each is best for
- Choose AVEE if: Android/Windows only, you want the lowest price or pay-for-data, you want a camouflaged transport with zero configuration, and you want to test on your own network first without an email.
- Choose NordVPN if: you need many platforms or router/TV support, want a large server choice, value 24/7 support and an established audited brand, or want extras like dedicated IP and threat protection.
Network conditions vary by carrier and location. Plans start at $1 — import the link into the client you already use.
FAQ
- Is AVEE cheaper than NordVPN?
- Substantially. AVEE is $1–3/month; NordVPN's no-commitment monthly is $12.99. Nord is cheaper on multi-year plans but that is a different commitment.
- Is AVEE as good as NordVPN?
- It is not as broad — fewer platforms, no public server network, no audit, no 24/7 support. Where it competes is price and a DPI-resistant transport that is on by default. Different products for different priorities.
- Which works better in a country that blocks VPNs?
- Both can. Nord needs you to pick obfuscated servers; AVEE runs a camouflaged transport by default. Test whichever on your own connection — AVEE's trial and Nord's money-back both let you do that.
- Does AVEE have an iOS app?
- No dedicated AVEE iOS app yet, but the subscription link works in third-party VLESS/Reality clients on iPhone, such as Shadowrocket, Stash, V2Box, Happ or Karing. NordVPN has its own iOS app.
